Obituary for
Lorraine T. McClintick
Lorraine McClintick, 71, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2013 at Quarry Hill in Camden with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 10, 1941 in Lewiston Maine the daughter of the late Ulrich and Mary Chaput. She was raised in Minot, Me and attended local schools and was a graduate of Edward Little High School class of 1959.
After high school she married George McClintick and the couple moved to Connecticut for quite some time before settling in Nobleboro, Maine on their farm where she raised her three children. On the farm they would raise their own meat and vegetables. Along with helping with the chores on the farm she would also can, freeze, and pickle vegetables, make butters, jams, and ice creams.
She loved to cook and she passed along many family recipes. She was famous for her pies and her potato salad and they were both big hits and highly requested for all of the family gatherings. She also made strawberry shortcake with fresh cream that was so thick you would have to scoop it on.
When she was younger she was an avid bowler and had many trophies to show for it. This was a hobby she carried on into adulthood as she would participate in the women’s league at DePatsy’s Lanes in Waldoboro. She also enjoyed dancing on Saturday nights at Crystal Falls in Chelsea. She never missed her four o’clock hair appointment with Norma York and Linda Perkins. She enjoyed these appointments so much that she would schedule her vacations around them and she would either have to leave after the appointment or make sure that she would be back home in time for her next one.
She was predeceased by a grandson Gary York
