Obituary for Helen P. Moore
Helen P. Moore, 86, passed away peacefully at Maine Medical Center in Portland on Saturday January 5, 2013. She was born on July 23, 1926 in Norfolk, VA the daughter of the late John and Olga Oksanen Putansu.
Helen owned and operated with her husband Hill-n-Dale Stables for over 50 years. Her great love of horses and children made her an icon in this area. While she had no children of her own, she played a huge part in molding thousands of children who she had as students and considered them all family. She also bred and trained Appaloosa horses that were sold all over the world.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold P. Moore
Survivors include her brother Harold Putansu and his wife Alberta and their daughter Kathleen, Brother John Putansu, and two Sisters Alma and Mary Putansu.
There will be a memorial service held in the spring.
