Obituary for Sandra Carol "Sandy" Dickinson

Sandra Carol "Sandy" Dickinson
Sandra "Sandy" Carol Dickinson died peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. She was born November 20, 1946 to John Stamplin and Sylvia (Gesner) Stamplin in Middletown, Connecticut.

Sandy graduated from Middletown High School in 1964. She met and married Lee Dickinson in Fort Gordon, Georgia in 1965 and together they started a family. When Lee went overseas in the military, Sandy moved back to Connecticut and then they moved the family to Boothbay, Maine in 1976.

She was a very hard worker, working in the cafeteria in the Boothbay schools. She remodeled houses with her husband, Lee, lobstered, cleaned area houses and spent her time doing many odd jobs, including upholstering chairs.

Sandy loved and took care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren in her home.

Sandy is survived by her mother, Sylvia Gesner of Moodus, Connecticut. She is also survived by her husband of 50 years, Lee Dickinson of Boothbay, Maine, her son, Douglas Dickinson and his wife, Laurie of Boothbay, her son, Scott Dickinson and his wife, Sharleen of Boothbay, and her sister, Debbie Ambrose and her husband, Jerry, of East Haddem, Connecticut. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brittany Dickinson of Boothbay, Daniel Dickinson of Boothbay, Ben Dickinson of Boothbay, nephew, Billy Pokorny of East Haddem, Connecticut, and her great grandson, Myles Tilton of Boothbay. She is predeceased by her father, John Stamplin.

Hall's of Boothbay has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences, light a candle for Sandy, or to share a story or pictures, visit her Book of Memories at www.hallfuneralhomes.com.
