Elaine Dodge Fales
Elaine Dodge Fales, 89, of Cushing, passed away peacefully January 3, 2016 at home.
She was born September 23, 1926 in Stonington, Me. the youngest daughter of Charles P, and Edna Dyer Dodge.
Elaine lived on Isle Au Haut until she was three, the family then left the island and moved to Friendship. She graduated from Thomaston High School, where she met the love of her life, Richard Fales. They were married July 29, 1945 in Friendship. Together they made their home in Cushing. She raised her family and later worked at the family store with her husband and son for many years.
Elaine was a quiet, gentle woman. She enjoyed riding her motorcycle and snowmobile. She loved animals especially her dogs. She raised bottle fed lambs, two calves and a goat, along with other critters. She also liked to read and cook, but she especially loved to spend time with her friends and family at her home in Cushing.
Elaine was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Richard Fales and a son John R. Fales; two sisters; and one brother. She is survived by her son James Fales and his wife Carolyn of Thomaston, her daughter Marie and her husband Arthur Pease of Thomaston ; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many dear friends.
At Elaine’s request, no services will be held.
