Obituary for Harlan George Pease Sr.

Harlan George  Pease Sr.
Harlan George Pease Sr. passed away January 16, 2016 in Augusta. He was born June 12, 1921 in Appleton to George and Vera (Pierson) Pease.

Harlan grew up in Burkettville and attended local schools. He worked on farms and in the logging industry as a young man. He married Frances Willey in 1941 in Rockland and the couple had 5 children.

Harlan joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served our country during WWII. After his service, he returned to Maine to continue working in the logging industry and was a truck driver for Dead River for many years. He retired in 1986. He loved hunting, gardening and spending time with his family, friends, and dogs.

Harlan was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Frances; son, Peter; four brothers; and 5 sisters. He is survived by: his son, Harlan Pease Jr. and his wife Lorna of Rockport; daughters, Joan Beaster and her husband David of Florida, Emily Carlson and her husband Glenn of China, ME, and Kathy Belisle and her husband Richard of Winslow; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; dear friend, Helen Jones; dog Cutie; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service for Harlan will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Hall Funeral Home, 78 Main Street in Thomaston with Rev. Anne Roundy officiating.
