Ralph Jones, Sr., 84, passed away on April 22, 2016 in Coopers Mills. He was born on July 14, 1931 in Union, Maine, the son of Lyman Jones and Minnie Lermond Jones. Ralph grew up in Union and attended Union area schools. He married Pauline “Polly” Jones in 1952 in Union, Maine.

Ralph was a truck driver for many years and retired from Martin Marietta. He also drove truck for B & R Trucking, Grevis Payson, Pen Bay Transport, Milton Clark and Maurice Turner. He held many safe driving awards while working for Martin Marietta.

Ralph and Polly vacationed in Florida for many winters. They enjoyed spending time with good friends Rodney and Marion Norwood playing cards.

Ralph is predeceased by his parents, his wife of 63 years, Pauline “Polly” Jones; brothers Carl Jones and Arthur Jones.

He is survived by his son, Ralph Jones, Jr. of Jefferson; his daughter-in-law Vickey Jones of Jefferson, granddaughter Kristina Jones Barahona of Miami, Florida; grandson Kristopher Jones of Great Falls, Montana; great grandson Logan Jones of Thomaston, Maine, and great granddaughter Emma Grace Barahona of Miami, Florida.

Ralph also leaves behind his dog "Rambo", an anniversary gift given to Ralph and Pauline 10 years ago from Ralph and Vickey.

At Ralph’s request there will be no visiting hours. A graveside service to celebrate Ralph’s life is to be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the East Union Cemetery in Union, Maine.
