Condolence: Kira. Kelsey, Ruthann, Kerri and the rest of Joe's extended family. I know the days ahead will catch you wrapped in many moments of cherished memories. As you grieve know that many grieve with you and also celebrate the gift of having known the Weber. I am carrying thoughts of all the tributes that were presented at the celebration of Joe’s Life. He gave so much in service to his fellow brothers and sisters. Regretfully we get busy and we don’t acknowledge how much certain individuals impact our lives. The celebration of his life really hit me and brought home how much knowing him had meant to me in my life. I met Joe in the spring of 1969 when he was a substitute at Breed Junior High. He was never my teacher but he talked to everyone and we became fast friends. I invited him home for lasagna to meet my family. The years that followed Joe became an important part of my life. He planted the seeds of community for a bunch of us from Breed Junior High. He taught us how important it was to be involved even if it burnt you out. My mother always taught us about social responsibility but Weber really brought it to action. He would recruit a bunch of us to work on political campaigns with him. I got to meet a bunch of really wonderful people because of Joe. They use to take us on outings to Plum Island which was really great because we wouldn’t have gotten out of the City otherwise. He turned me onto Arlo Guthrie and Paul Simon, I always think of Joe whenever I hear Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard and many other songs. We continued to cross paths, at weddings, births of children and funerals throughout the years. I will cherish the sparse times spent together at the family camp on the coast of Maine and for the opportunity for our families to share more beach times.
He was a bright light in this world and his spark will be missed very much. I keep seeing images of him entering a room with that big smile and his arms stretched out for a big hug. His was a life well lived and he touched a lot of people with his kindness. Much love and peace to his girls, extended family and friends.

Condolence: Mr. Weber was by far one of my favorite, and most memorable, teachers. Even as an adult when I would see him in town, he would recognize me and stop to chat for a few minutes. I had him as a teacher in fifth grade. I always remember him saying, whenever someone went home sick, "Take two cookies and call me in the morning." I still say that to friends, family, and coworkers now. Unfortunately, those two cookies were not enough for him this time. I'm so sorry to all of us who lost someone wonderful and memorable, but I'm especially to his family. I know how much I appreciated him and how this breaks my heart, I can only imagine how much his family are hurting. My sincerest condolences and I hope you know just how many people he reached and inspired.

Condolence: I first met Joe when he taught at the Cushing Elemetary School years ago. He was a friendly and kind man who cared about his students and made friends easily. I hadn't seen him in a few years, but we used to run into each other periodically, and he always took time to chat and catch up. My heart goes out to the the family and close friends.

Condolence: Dear Kelsey and Kiara and Kerry,
I am so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. What a great guy. Every time I saw him I was greeted with warmth and enthusiasm. We share a Boston background, so always had a connection, and of course, he loved his girls greatly and with abandon. My thoughts are with you in your grief...I hold you in my heart.
Love,
Paula( aka Mrs. Spector_
