Waite Weston was a father figure and a friend to me. A more gracious, hardworking and straight shooter of a man never walked this earth. He was smart but humble, practical but not cheap and, above all, a loyal and decent friend, father and citizen. Summing up the measure of a person in a few sentences is a fools errand. But - suffice it to say - if the world had more Waite Westons in its midst, the world would be a better place.
